Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Receive, label and analyze samples (blood, toxic, tissue etc.)

Requirements
  • Proven experience as Lab Technician or relevant position
  • Experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment and potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, infectious bacteria, biohazards etc.)
  • In depth knowledge of QHSE Systems, preventative measures and laboratory best practices
  • Excellent physical condition and endurance
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems
  • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
  • Valid laboratory technician license
  • Degree in biology, chemistry or relevant field

Job Summary:
The job holder is responsible for the planning, coordination and direction of medical health services within the healthcare facilities in which s/he works. S/he is responsible for ensuring that healthcare facilities provide the most effective patient care. S/he plans and coordinates services in the main dispensary and health posts, overseeing specific departments/units such as reproductive and child health (RCH) and Nutrition. S/he manages health/medical staff, ensures the health information system functions properly, ensures detailed medical records, and serves as a liaison between administrators and medical staff. S/he is a member of the management team at the field operation level.
As part of the health preparedness and response s/he ascertains the existence of any health preparedness policy; carries out health hazard mapping and risk analysis; mobilizes and stockpiles essential health resources including drugs, equipment and supplies appropriate for health relief; designs strategies to decrease mortality and prevalence of health hazards; and promotes long-term rehabilitation programme.
Key duties and responsibilities:
  • To ensure the delivery of quality healthcare services to the refugees by working hand-in-hand with nurses, clinicians, lab technicians and other medical personnel.
  • To enforce compliance with general medical ethics and practice by all health staff.
  • To set up epidemic intelligence mechanisms for early warning of impending disease outbreak.
  • To manage the patient referral system
  • To ensure health facility records are well kept and organized.

  • To represent all aspects of program and operations and has overall accountability for the area of operation
  • To act as the primary TRCS representative in the area of operation and attend all relevant forums/meetings in order to strengthen TRCS position in the area, including government authorities and relevant stakeholders

BBC Media Action has been working in Tanzania since 2009. One of our biggest projects is Niambie - a multimedia intervention connecting young people from across Tanzania to understand, discuss and influence decisions about issues affecting their lives.

Niambie provides a unique space in the national media for young people to discuss important issues on their own terms and in their own language. It engages and informs young people from across Tanzania, creating a platform for them to talk to their leaders. Stage 1: Registration for an admission account:

  • To finalize registration you will need to put in a password of your choice that you will use whenever you wish to log into the admission system.
  • And lastly fill in the characters captcha as will be shown in the page, i.e. Captcha then click register button at the bottom to register for an account.  
If you are successfully registered, then the system will send an email to your email address, please log into your email account to activate your admission account.
  • Use the link sent into your email to log into our Admission system.

                             Your Password is:   the password you supplied
Stage 2: make application:
  1. When you are successfully logged into your account you will find notification that your account is successfully activated (please open the notification)
  2. Click at    My Application button to start application

          Then click add sitting
           Index no: S0110/0088/2017         level   A-LEVEL
            Then click add sitting
  if you have multiple sittings then you can add all sittings that you wish to be considered in the  selection process.
        2. For Equivalent applicants with form IV results from NECTA
             Add index number and year and choose level
          Then upload your Diploma certificates in the system in PDF format
       3.  For applicants with foreign certificates,  you will need to put results in the system
            and upload certificates in PDF format
Step 4: PROGRAMME CHOICES
Choose from the List of available Programmes and the application choice number.
Note: choose the  programmes in the selected List and if  you put choice 1,, means that is your first choice, the second is your second choice…etc.
